About our sunroom contractor business in Irvine

How I got into building sunrooms

I started working summers on patio and sunroom crews in high school and kept at it all through college, so I learned the trade from the ground up before I ever ran a job of my own. We started Daylight Irvine Sunrooms & Patios here in Irvine in 2017. Most of our calls still come from Irvine families who want a patio, a deck or a tired old sunroom turned into a room they'll actually use.

What I care about most is that you understand what you're paying for, because a sunroom choice made in a rush is hard to undo once the glass is in. I'd rather spend an extra half hour at your kitchen table explaining a heated room against an unheated one than have you surprised by the room after it's built. I come out to look at your space and put the estimate together myself, and our own crew does the build while I check in along the way.

What you can expect when we take your job

  • You hear every option from the person who measured

The same person who looks at your space explains every option, so you know whether a three season room or a four season room fits how you'll use it before anything gets built. Your estimate is written in plain words, so you can line it up against any other bid and see exactly what you're getting.

  • We check what the room sits on first

Before we talk about glass or roof panels, we look at the slab, deck or old patio cover the room will sit on, because a sunroom is only as good as its base. If that base needs work, you'll hear about it at the estimate, when it's still easy to plan around.

  • We go over HOA and city steps early

We walk through what your HOA and the city will want to see before you get attached to a design, so the room fits your address from the start. When a project calls for a permit, we take care of the permit steps with the city and help you pull together what your HOA asks for, and if that sounds like the way you'd want your job run, get in touch and I'll come take a look.

Licenses and insurance

  • California contractor license

The state's Contractors State License Board licenses anyone who builds or alters a building in California, and a license is required when a project needs a building permit, uses employee labor or runs $1,000 or more in labor and materials. Nearly any sunroom passes that mark on materials alone, so it's worth asking every contractor you're weighing to show you theirs. Licensed and fully insured.

  • Irvine business license

The City of Irvine requires every business working in the city to hold a business license before it starts work there. Ask about it along with the state license, because a contractor who skips the city's paperwork may skip other steps too.
